Micron has sold out consumers and terminated its consumer line of house brand memory products, Crucial, to focus on the illusory two-lettered god of money, AI. This comes at a time when Micron is raking-in record tax breaks, government subsidies, and taxpayer money, which it apparently is choosing to then pass on primarily to its megacorporate “AI” customers. The situation leaves consumers high and dry, again, by an industry with a corrupt past wrought with fraud and price fixing. The memory industry is primarily comprised of Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron, and with only 3 companies controlling effectively all relevant memory supply, once unspoken gentleman’s agreements have now become simple public statements that could signal to “competitors” what the next move is.
